Meet INFILTRATOR

Where are you from and how does that affect your work?

I grew up in the Bay Area and I've lived in LA & Santa Monica since 2004.  California affects everything in my life and work.  The vibrant culture, people, art, geography, and food have had a profound impact on me since I was young.

How did you get your start?

This business is a brand new start for me.  I feel like I always had an eye on design, fashion, and style, but I never thought I'd ever start a retail business selling hats and sneaky socks.  My sister pointed me in the right direction in terms of finding a manufacturing partner and I was off to the races.

What is the hardest part of your creation process?

The hardest part of the creation process is having a limited budget!  I wish I had unlimited funds to create all the designs that are floating around my brain, but alas, I have yet to find that type of sugar daddy lol.

LOL! What’s your favorite item that you’ve created, and why?

Hmmm...maybe the Vinyl Vibes hat? I like the hummingbird as well. Both of these designs feature direct embroidery, which is something I am doing more and more of.

Any advice for someone just starting off on their own?

Take the leap!  You'll be glad you did!  It's never going to be exactly like you thought or as you planned, but if you can use every experience as a learning tool, you will be off to the races in no time!
