Meet We Bee Makin Lemonade

Where are you from and how does that affect your work?

We’re Colorado girls and have been best friends since the 4th grade! We Bee Makin Lemonade really reflects our love for our community and bringing people together. So much of our business is spent at local festivals, school events, car shows, markets, fundraisers, and community gatherings throughout Colorado. For us, it’s about more than just selling lemonade, we love being part of the memories people are making at these events.

Who are your biggest influences?

A lot of our inspiration comes from each other, our families, our community, and honestly, our customers! We love taking something as classic and simple as lemonade and making it our own. We play with fresh fruit, different flavor combinations, presentation, and little details that make each drink feel special. Our customers also inspire us to keep trying new flavors and ideas.

What is the hardest part of your creation process?

Consistency! Every lemonade is made with fresh ingredients and real honey, so we want every single drink to taste just as good as the one before it. When you’re at a busy event with a line of people waiting, making each drink fresh while keeping the quality and experience consistent can definitely be a challenge but it’s also part of what makes what we do special.

What's your favorite item that you've created, and why?

This is a hard one because we’ve created so many fun flavors! Our menu has grown from classic lemonade into flavors like Strawberry, Raspberry, Peach, Mango, Pineapple, Cucumber, and Dragon Fruit. We love seeing people who come to our stand thinking they’re going to order regular lemonade and then decide to try something completely different. Dragon Fruit is especially fun because it’s beautiful, refreshing, and always gets people’s attention!

What do you love most about Arvada or Colorado in general?

Colorado is home, and what we love most is the sense of community. There is always something happening, from farmers markets and art fairs to school events, festivals, car shows, and neighborhood celebrations. We’ve been able to meet so many amazing people through We Bee Makin Lemonade, and we love that our business gives us a reason to experience different Colorado communities while supporting other local small businesses.

What is a fun fact about yourself that others may not expect?

We’ve been best friends since the 4th grade! We met as kids in 1998, and all these years later, we’re running a business together. We’ve basically grown up together, so getting to build something side-by-side as adults makes We Bee Makin Lemonade even more special to us.

Anything special you'd like to share?

We Bee Makin Lemonade is a best-friend-owned Colorado small business built around fresh ingredients, real honey, fresh fruit, community, and having fun with what we create. We love supporting local events and organizations whenever we can, and some of our favorite moments have come from being able to give back to schools and community causes through our lemonade stand.

We always say life is just a little sweeter with lemonade, and we can’t wait to bring that sweetness to Jackalope Art Fair in Olde Town Arvada!
