Where are you from & how does that affect your work? I am originally from Montana, and I now reside in Idyllwild. My wholesale line is informed by the natural textures an objects found when living in the mountains, but my artwork and home decor is where I express other influences.

Who is your biggest influence? Currently I am deeply influenced by textures and colors found in the derelict, the abandoned ancient homes and estates. Crumbling plaster and paint, peeling wallpaper, glimpses of lath and stone and brick.

What is the hardest part of the creation process?

Cleaning up after myself after everything has found it's way to the kiln.

What's your favorite item that you've created, and why?

I'm obsessed with orb jars. The form is an homage to the moon jar, and they make a wonderful canvas for exploring layers of decoration.

What do you love most about San Diego? The people. I haven't been to San Diego before, but one of my most cherished friends is from San Diego.

What is a fun fact about yourself that other may not expect? I built houses for about 15 years.

How cool! Anything special you'd like to share?  I'm learning how to screenprint and I will soon be making my own "wallpaper" for my work.

We can’t wait to see you in person this August 29th & 30th for Jackalope San Diego!
