San Diego Requirements

Permits & Licensing

STATE Requirements: While anyone vending in California should have a CDTFA account, we won't be collecting your details for this event.

Food Vendor Requirements:

  • Vendors selling food products may be subject to a TFF Permit with the County of San Diego. Jackalope Arts DOES NOT facilitate this TFF permitting process.  Artisan is responsible for applying for TFF at least 30 days prior to event date.

    • Vendor Fees:

      • Prepackaged: $148

        • Prepackaged Requirements: Food items must be manufactured and prepackaged in approved permitted food facilities: a restaurant, federal (USDA, FDA) manufacturing facilities, or state permitted/registered facility in the manufacturer’s sealed container. At the state level in California, a Processed Food Registration (PFR) is one way to meet this requirement. No sampling is allowed with a prepackaged permit unless the product stays in its original
          packaging from the time it is manufactured to the time it is provided to the consumer at the event.

      • Onsite prep: $251

      • MFFs with current San Diego County permit are exempt from a TFF - we'll just need your permit record number.

      • Class A and Class B Cottage Food Operators do not need a TFF unless you plan to provide open samples at the event.
