Meet Gogh Jewelry

Where are you from, and how does that affect your work?
I grew up in Hungary, but after a lifetime of travel — for diving, for film work, for the sheer pull of new water and new places — I feel like a citizen of the world more than of any one country. That mix shows up in the jewelry. A piece might start with a stone I found in one country, a technique I picked up in another, and a memory from somewhere else entirely. I don't design from one fixed place. I design from everywhere I've been.
Who or what are your biggest artistic influences?
The ocean, hands down. I've spent more of my life underwater than most people spend on land, and the ocean teaches you about color, movement, and patience in a way nothing else does. Nature more broadly, too — and travel. Every trip leaves something behind in the work, whether it's a color palette, a stone, or just a feeling I'm trying to capture in metal and thread.

What is the hardest part of your creation process?
Time. I wear a lot of hats — stunt work, dive instruction, coaching, running the business — so the hardest part isn't the making, it's carving out the space to make. When I do get that time, it's sacred.
What's your favorite item you've created, and why?
My wrap bracelets. I genuinely hate taking jewelry on and off, so I designed something I never have to. I put a wrap on and it stays on for months — I sleep in it, swim in it, surf in it. It becomes part of you instead of something you put on for an occasion.

What do you love most about Pasadena?
The artsy vibes. It's a city that takes creativity seriously, and that energy is exactly what makes a fair like this one so much fun to be part of.neighborhoods, culture and fun. It's a big city with a laid back, accessible feel that I can't get enough of.
What's a fun fact about yourself that others may not expect?
I'm a Hollywood stuntwoman and a PADI scuba instructor — so depending on the day, I'm either doubling for someone underwater on a film set or teaching someone to breathe underwater for the very first time.

Anything special you'd like to share?
For the fair — every purchase comes with a bonus surprise gift. Come find me and see what it is.

We can’t wait to see you in person this September 19th & 20th for Pasadena ARTWalk!
