Where are you from? I was born and raised in Mazatenango, Suchitepequez Guatemala migrated the USA at age 12.
How did you get your start? It all started during the Pandemic. So, in Guatemala not a lot of people believe Covid was a real thing, especially not indigenous people. So, a lot of people started to get sick and Guatemala is one of those countries where we have no funds from the government to really help anyone.
My mom lives in Guatemala, she kept telling us about her neighbors and how sad the situation was, so in one of our many conversations she mentioned these amazing faces masks with Guatemalan textiles, that if we wanted any for us and it just came to mind that maybe we could help some of my moms neighbors by selling some of these face mask.
We sold over 200 face mask to friends and friends of the friends, after that it was other 200 more to just randoms that would contact me through instagram & facebook, and so with those funds we were able to help people we actually knew and random people that would walk by my moms house that seem in need.
What is the hardest part of the creation process?
The hardest part is getting every single piece to measure what it should be, sometimes pieces are longer than other, wider etc. but nothing major. I feel my part is the easiest.
What's your favorite item that you've created, and why?
Every item is my favorite but now that I’m a mom, I have to say is the Short Overalls. So adorable and fun.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
5 years from now, I hope to have mastered this business idea by having tags on everything and having a functional website and maybe show more of what Guatemala is, because Guatemala has more then just indigenous textiles, we are also know for our coffee, our cacao and way more.
Any advice for someone just starting off on their own?
To never give up on a dream. To work towards it and believe in you because that is all you need to start.
We can’t wait to see you in person this May 30th & 31st for Downtown Burbank Arts Festival!
